HomeOwners

Homeownership not only provides families with the single largest investment of their lifetimes, but it also strengthens communities, fosters civic pride, and provides children with a stable living environment.

The typical homeowner has nearly 40x more wealth than the typical renter. Estimations that for every dollar spent on reducing childhood poverty, the country would save at least $7 with respect to the economic costs of poverty.

Homes

We work at the intersection of Asset-Based Community Development principles and market-based realities. It begins with LEVEL being invited into neighborhoods to work alongside community leaders and partners to set a new vision for the community.

Home sales boost local economies through a ripple effect that supports local jobs, small businesses, and families. The National Association of Realtors (NAR) reports that buying an existing home adds over $60,000 to the local economy.

Communities

LEVEL is the long-term solution to housing inequity. Our model facilitates dignified, affordable homeownership opportunities for hardworking residents who want to put down roots in our communities.

Working with the Borough, LEVEL received the first ever scattered site grant for affordable housing projects. Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP of $1M) DCED.  Additional grant funds of $1.3M came from ACED.

  • McKees Rocks is a predominantly rental property town. We started working with LEVEL four years ago with the goal of revitalizing the neighborhood, turning dilapidated, abandoned properties into renovated properties. Our hope is to support homeownership across the community.
